Model of a megalithic tomb dating from the beginning of the third millennium
BC
and measuring c. 30 m in length. The tomb is covered by an earth mound concealing two cist graves encircled by a stone surround. This type of burial had already appeared at the turn of the fourth millennium BC and is linked to the emergence among farming communities of a social hierarchy dominated by a ruling class. |
