AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY and COASTAL CULTURAL HERITAGE

The aim of this seminar is to propagate the use of aerial photography for research and promotion of coastal cultural heritage. We expect participation of advanced students, professional archeologists, historians, and specialists working in the field of heritage protection and cultural tourism management.
Main purposes of the seminar:
- to present the methods and practice of aerial photography, mapping and interpretation of past sites and landscapes;
- to provide an opportunity to learn about aerial photography application for heritage protection and promotion;
- to develop collaboration within "regional network" associated with Culture2000 and Ars Baltica projects.
Suggested themes for the lectures/presentations:
- aerial recording and past landscape interpretation;
- integrating aerial evidence, geophysics, archaeological excavation and fieldwork data;
- use of aerial photography for coastal heritage protection and promotion.
